improvement

The students should continue to work in class to help them improve with this test. Regular pull ups, strength exercises like push ups or wieght lifting will them to improve in the class.

Outside of the class, students could try to practice on a homemade pull up bar or at the gym. They could also just continue to stay active and fit which will contribute to their improvement in an overall manner.

Results

The students as a whole performed very well.

We had 5 students perform above the HFZ and were in the fit range. - two were males and three were females.

16 students fell with in the Healthy fit zone- 11 were males and 5 were females

only two people were below the HFZ- one was male, one was female.

The range was from 2- 42

Girls ranged from 2- 30

Males ranged from 11- 42

The class mean was 21.1

Males mean was 24.6

Females mean was 11.25

Validity and Reliability

The test was valid because it was a good indicator of muscular strength for the students. The stronger students were typically able to do more than less stronger students. The males on a average were able to do more than the females.

The t est was reliable because many students scores did not fluxuate too much between the tests. The students had little training fot this test so their scores remained around the same. The biggest change was an 8 rep increase and a 12 rep decrease. Many were under 5 in their changes.

I controlled for reliability by making sure the test was set up exactly the same and I did not change my directions or change the students form in anyway from the previous test.

Test # 2

The second test will take place on November 8th.

Evaluation of Modified pull up

The modified pull up will be done twice this semester. Grades will depend on if the students results fall in the below the healthy fit zone, in the HFZ or exceed the HFZ. Improvement between the first and second test will also be taken into account.

Grade Breakdown:

A +- Above HFZ both times and showed improvement
A - Above HFZ both times but showed no improvement
A-  - In the HFZ first time and improved above the HFZ
B + - In the HFZ both times and showed improvement
B -  In the HFZ both times but showed no improvement
B- - Was below the HFZ the first time and improved into the HFZ
C+ Was below HFZ both times but showed improvement
C- Was below HFZ both times and showed no improvement
F- Did not participate in either test and recieved a zero.
